Learning Chinese is Easier Than You Think

You may have heard that Chinese is difficult to learn, but our school's Q&A Rapid Response Method with have you speaking Chinese on the first day of class. Our time-tested approach is built on short-term memory to establish long-term memory. We focus on four features of Chinese that will make learning easier than you think.

Romanization

No need to worry about recognizing hundreds of Chinese characters. A romanization system called pinyin helps students learn pronunciation, making it easy to convert characters to words having letters.

Characters

Each Chinese character consists of components called "radicals" and "phonetics" that provide hints as to their meaning and sound. As you learn the various components, which are limited in number, you will find it becomes easier to recognize each character.

Grammar

Chinese verbs have no conjugations or tense endings. Sentence structure is simple, and has many parallels with English. By changing a single word, you can make a question into an answer, which is the foundation of our Rapid Response Method.

Vocabulary

In Chinese, single-syllable words enter easily into compounds that express a multitude of meanings. You only need a small vocabulary of 200-500 words to express yourself at a basic level.
