 Ching Hua Chinese Language School Ching Hua Chinese School has approximately 200 students and has been operating since 1980. We meet Saturday mornings during the regular school year. Currently our program offers classes: • JK – grade 8, Cantonese or Mandarin reading, writing and verbal skills, • Adult Cantonese classes for beginners reading, writing and verbal skills, • Extra Interest classes held after language classes (piano, drawing, calligraphy) Ching Hua Chinese School is the only language school in Ottawa teaching both Simplified and Traditional writing in the same class. Our objective is to provide students the opportunity to maintain their heritage language and culture. We also welcome students who wish to learn Chinese as a new language. We revise our textbooks regularly and include traditional crafts and games to promote the Chinese culture. We offer a broad level of language skills within each classroom.
