![]() Confucius Institute - Texas A&M University The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University, which was inaugurated on April 28, 2008, is an outreach effort of Texas A&M University to help to better prepare students and the State of Texas for a global future. The Institute, in keeping with Texas A&M’s profile as a research university, is focused on increasing cultural, academic ,and scientific connections with China, in addition to strengthening Chinese language teaching. The institute also sponsors academic research, workshops and seminars, and cultural activities on and off campus. On campus partners in the Confucius Institute include the College of Education and Human Development, the College of Liberal Arts, and the International Programs Office. The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University promises to dramatically increase the ability of citizens across Texas to learn more about the Chinese language and Chinese culture, and it will also allow Texas A&M to have a greater role in helping the citizens of Texas to more fully understand the critical importance of Chinese language, culture, and society.
