Credit Courses
The University of Waterloo's undergraduate Chinese language credit courses offered through East Asian Studies at Renison University College were developed by the Confucius Institute. All qualified instructors are from Renison University College and Nanjing University, China. The courses provide attractive electives for students wishing to learn the language and culture of China and are an integral part of the East Asian Studies Minor, Option, Diploma in East Asian Studies, and Diploma in Chinese Language offered at the University of Waterloo, please visit the East Asian Studies program web site for more information.
Non Credit Courses
The Confucius Institute offers a selection of non-credit Chinese language and culture courses through East Asian Studies at Renison University College.  If you have business and cultural contacts in China or plans to travel to the area, these courses are designed for you.  View our non credit course descriptions, registration and scheduling information.
Study in China Summer Program
This annual 6 week for credit program offers an exciting opportunity to explore the language, culture and society of the world's most populous nation.  Learn and practice Chinese in a Mandarin-speaking environment.  Through lectures, cultural excursions to important historical cities, and the experience of daily life, students gain a better understanding of the changing traditional values and challenges facing China in adapting to the new market economy.
