This course is for learners without any Chinese language background. Attention is focused on spoken Chinese language and making Chinese language learning fun. The course consists of 12 lessons, each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. When the course is over, students will be able to grasp the four tones in Mandarin Chinese Language, understand the pinyin system, carry on simple conversations in Chinese, and have a good foundation for further Chinese language learning.

This course is for learners with some Chinese language background - either by completing the Beginning 6-week course or through other instruction. Focus continues to be on spoken Chinese language. The course consists of 12 lessons, each lasing 1 hour and 30 minutes. This program helps young children start learning about Chinese culture and language. A variety of visual and interactive methods will be sued to teach children a few spoken Chinese words and daily customs. Weekly classes are a mixture of crafts, songs, role play and activities that are used to help children discover the culture of China and to make Chinese language learning fun. The children will learn how to use chopsticks, make origami, greet people and introduce themselves.

This beginning program is an introduction to Chinese cultures and language. Each week, a variety of visual and interactive methods will be used to teach children to speak the language. Weekly lessons include words and phrases, a Chinese song and an art project designed to integrate the vocabulary and theme for the lesson. The children will learn how to make simple Chinese food, use chopsticks, serve tea, address family members and make greeting cards.

Provide your child with an introduction to Chinese culture and language. Students will learn and practice frequently used Chinese expressions and everyday words while emphasizing oral and listening skills. They will learn the different tones in Mandarin Chinese, have an understanding of the pinyin system of pronunciation, learn to exchange greetings, and have basic knowledge of Chinese culture at the end of the program. Learning activities will include hands-on practice of native Chinese folk art such as paper-cutting, calligraphy and mask-making.
