Feng-Hua ChineseSchool was established in 1998 which mainly teaches Mandarin by promoting simplified Chinese characters and Pinyin. Feng-HuaChineseSchool is the member school of ¡°EthnicSchool¡¯s federation of NSW¡±. In addition, it is sponsored by NSW Education Department¡¯s Community School Language Education Program.
Education AimThe students are expected to have the basic knowledge of Chinese Mandarin listening, speaking, reading and writing through learning Zhongwen. The students are cultivated to have complete personality, innovation realization and practice ability through further promoting Chinese culture education. The students are expected to become the bilingual talents and the communication bridge between different cultures.
Teaching Staff Feng-Hua ChineseSchool has been devoted great efforts to the enhancement of culture education and teaching quality for nine years. The teachers of this school are required not only related degree and teaching experience but also love, patience and sense of responsibility towards the students. The quality of this school has already been widely admired and praised by students and their parents. Most of the current teachers come from key institutes, middle schools and primary schools in China with high teaching standard. Principal Yi Xu, the president of ¡°Australia Council For The Promotion Language and Culture Inc¡± who graduated from
EastChinaNormalUniversity with major in Education. She has gained abundant teaching experience both in China and Australia from her more than twenty years of teaching.
Teaching Materials
The students who have Chinese background:ZhongwenThe teaching books we used are the latest edition textbooks from People¡¯s Republic of China, which are particularly designed for foreign Chinese students. Each textbook is accompanied with two standard and suitable notebooks accordingly. The students who have non-Chinese background:Hanyu Leyuan Hanyu Leyuan is recommended by National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (NOCFL). It includes 2 text books ( with CD), 2 students workbooks (with CD). Hanyu leyuan involves teaching Chinese characters, phrases and sentences, introducing Chinese culture by pictures, teaching Chinese handcraft, songs, stories and games in an interesting way.
The Achievement of FenghuaChineseSchool The scores that the students got in FenghuaChineseSchool is approved by the local High schools.Fenghua Chinese School is sponsored by NSW Education Department¡¯s Community School Language Education Program. In 2006, 2008 FenghuaChineseSchool was appointed to be the exam venue for the HSK.In 2007, FenghuaChineseSchool was appointed to be the exam venue for the ¡°Chinese Culture Competition". Fenghua ChineseSchool has organized Chinese Winter and Summer Camp sponsored by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office for many times.Principal Yi Xu has been the leader of China Winter and Summer Camp sponsored by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office for many times. She has organized the high school and primary schools¡¯ principles from Sydney northern district to China for visit as a culture exchange program and communication and maintained the contact and cooperation with the educational professors both in Australia and China to promote the Chinese language
