 Langara First Mandarin School Langara First Mandarin School (LFMS) offers Mandarin courses for both adults and children. Besides, talent courses such as fine art, poetry recitation, and math are also provided to stimulate students’ interest in drawing, poetry and math. LFMS was established by people who are interested and enthusiastic about Mandarin education. Mandarin classes are now one of the programs offered at Continuing Studies, Langara College. LFMS places emphasis on the practicality of its courses, modern and interesting presentation methods and use of simple, easy-to-learn materials. Emphasis is on Chinese reading, writing, and conversation skills. Mandarin classes in simplified characters are offered along with classes in traditional characters. There are 8 levels of adult Mandarin courses designed to help students progress from the basic Hanyu Pinyin system to advanced conversational skills.
