![]() Leicester Chinese Community Centre The Chinese residents in Leicester started to organise as a community group in 1979. Its first venture was a Chinese youth club which held in a Chinese restaurant on Melton Road. The club expanded rapidly and moved to a new premises above a Chinese supermarket on Melton street. In 1987, Chinese Ladies Circle was formed. This group recognised that there was a need for a community centre. Leicester Chinese Community Centre (LCCC) was set up at its present address in November 1989 and it was supported and assisted by Leicester City Council. LCCC is now supported by Esmée Fairbairn Foundation which provides a grant for the basic running cost of the premises. We are also assisted by several funders to keep various projects running, such as the enlightening and enjoyable festive celebration events & workshops, youth and elderly projects etc. All the events and workshops are open for the public to take part. LCCC provides the focal and congregation point for the Chinese people in Leicester and also its affiliated groups which includes Chinese School, Elderly Club, Malaysian Society, and Kung Fu Club. We also provide various daily services to help the Chinese people who cannot speak English: access social services, translation and interpretation, benefits application, making appointments with GP, hospital, dentist, job centre, and bank etc. Chinese School: Chinese Language Class (Cantonese and Mandarin) Sun: 1.30pm – 3.45pm (Term time - from Sep to Jun) Mandarin Class: Mandarin Beginner Class for Adults Mon 6.30pm-8.30pm 170A Belgrave Gate Leicester, LE1 3XL United Kingdom Fax Phone Phone: 0116 2517583 Tuition charges Tuition fees: Please contact school for details.
