The London Confucius Institute provides advice and resources to SOAS Language Centre to assist in providing courses of high standard. LCI offers courses both independently and in conjunction with SOAS Language Centre. Chinese language coursesCourses currently offered at the SOAS Language Centre include:

Beginners Mandarin Chinese  Lower Intermediate Chinese  Upper Intermediate Chinese   Advanced Chinese   Beginners' spoken Cantonese

Chinese for special purposes: Courses also offered by the the SOAS Language Centre  Chinese for lawyers  Business Chinese  Mandarin for Cantonese speakers

SOAS Language Centre runs a Certificate course in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. LCI is also preparing short pre-service Chinese language teacher training courses and professional development programmes on the teaching of Chinese and Chinese culture for school teachers. Most will take the form of seminars and workshops. Modularised courses that lead to a recognised qualification will become available. HSK preparatory courses:HSK is a standardised national language proficiency test administered under the auspices of Hanban, PRC.

HSK preparatory courses at SOAS prepare HSK candidates by revising their language knowledge and skills and familiarising them with the HSK test format.

Easter and Summer courses: short intensive courses covering language and life and culture of China.
