Modern, forward thinking parents are now offering their children opportunities to learn new subjects and skills that will prepare them for the world’s needs as they grow up. Educational responsibility is often central to their thinking.
Our aim at Nihao Mandarin Language School is to assist in building cross cultural understanding, with an appreciation of the modern multicultural society and prepare children for the challenging future ahead. Through our Mandarin classes, we believe we are preparing children to learn and speak the language of the future. This will ultimately offer them greater opportunities in society.
Our classes:
Fun Club: Ages 4 - 7 Years. Introduction to the Chinese language through play,working towards basic speech and comprehension. Using songs, poetry and dance. Junior Classes: Ages 6 - 11 Years. Introducing reading chinese (pinyin) and writing chinese characters and progressing with speech and comprehension.We use the book "Chinese Made Easy (for Kids)" at this stage. Senior Classes: Ages 11 - 16 Years. Classes designed for older children, using the book "Chinese Made Easy" for beginners and more experienced children with the option of studying towards GCSE Chinese. Adult Classes: Ages 18 - 80. Classes designed for Adults interested in learning the Chinese language for business or pleasure, we try to cover all aspects of the language and have a flexible approach and taylor the classes to the students requirements, following the book "Confidence Chinese - Getting Started" Clubs and activities:
Homework Club.
After class sessions to allow children to catch up on homework and extra tasks that they may not be able to do at home.
Drama Club.
After class fun, introducing the culture of China through songs, poetry and drama.
Chinese Calligraphy Class:
Calligraphy means 'good' 'writing'. Chinese calligraphy is an art form, and calligraphers are highly respected in China. We offer a hands on class introducing the techniques and styles. No previous experience needed, come and have a go.
Chess Club:
The Chess Club is being proudly and successfully run by our own 14 years old student, Zhou Yang-Fan, who is the 2008 U18 All England's National Champion training many young, avid and aspiring future Chess champions.
