The Scottish Centre for Chinese Studies serves as a platform to link China related research at University of Edinburgh and at other HEI's in Scotland. The Centre organises interdisciplinary research seminar series, and hosts the interdisciplinary Master of Chinese studies programme. The Centre is part of the Asian Studies section of the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures. You can choose between programmes focusing on a comprehensive study of Chinese language and culture, joint degrees with subjects such as history or linguistics, intensive interdisciplinary programmes focusing on Chinese politics, business, culture and society or you can expand your knowledge through various taught and research postgraduate programs.Undergraduate MA in Chinese Studies a balanced undergraduate programme (MA in the Scottish system) of traditional and modern studies, including a year of study in China. MSc in Chinese Cultural Studies a one year taught postgraduate programme specializing in key issues of Chinese cultural studies, modern media, film and literature studies, for postgraduates with knowledge in Chinese (Curriculum A) or without prior Chinese language (curriculum B) an interdisciplinary programme for postgraduates from all disciplines without a training in Chinese or Chinese Studies over two years. Apart from providing an intensive Chinese language course, the programme offers a range of China focused modules taken from politics, business and management, anthropology, art history and Chinese cultural studies. research programmes in the field of Chinese Cultural Studies.
