Chinese (Modern) BA

UCAS code    T100

This degree provides students with an excellent knowledge of the Chinese language as well as the opportunity to study the society and culture of contemporary China.

Careers
Studying an East Asian language equips students with skills, experience and a breadth of understanding which a wide range of employers increasingly find both interesting and valuable. The modern emphasis of our programmes means that our graduates are especially qualified for work in areas such as management, the media, law and finance. The majority of our graduates find jobs which make use of their language skills and experience, and which involve work in and with the Asia Pacific area.

Recent graduates have pursued careers in business, journalism and publishing, diplomacy, teaching and overseas aid work, tourism, broadcasting, public relations, translating and interpreting, throughout China, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mongolia, and in East Asian-related jobs in Britain, Europe and the United States.
