Mandarin Chinese, the official language of China's 1.3 billion people, is one of the five official working languages of the United Nations and standard language in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.The Chinese Program in the Department of Foreign Languages at UNLV offers you a unique opportunity to study and immerse yourself in Chinese language and culture. The Minor in Chinese requires a minimum of 18 credits of course work, including CHI 213, 214, 301, 302, and six additional credits of upper-division (300-400 level) course work in Chinese.
