They are required to have correct pronunciation and intonation through mandarin phonetic drills, to master common Chinese words and expressions, to get familiar with Chinese grammar, and to develop relatively good ability of Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing through the study and exercises of words, grammar and texts. Different courses are also arranged on Chinese history, Chinese culture, calligraphy and cooking.
