Both classes are three-credit introductory college courses of Mandarin Chinese, which is also known as Putonghua in Mainland China; and as Guoyu in Taiwan, R.O.C. These classes are embedded with custom and cultural aspects with emphasis on four skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing Chinese language.
