 Washington DC Taiwanese School Established in 1983, teaching Taiwanese languages and preserving Taiwanese cultures have been the purpose of the school. The tradition of the school has always been small class size, frequent interactions between teachers/staff and parents/students, and providing diverse ways of learning. In addition to the regular classroom sections, the school also offers Taiwanese experience to students and friends through folk art demonstrations, cultural performances, Taiwanese children's play, and so on. There are spring and fall semesters each year, which start in the middle of January and early September respectively. Presently, students aged 1.5 years old to adult are accepted. Washington DC Taiwanese School welcomes not only students from all fluency levels but also those who are interested in joining the school staff and activities. Taiwanese for Kids 兒童台語班：台語現代文書法配合台灣小學台語教材，目前使用真平版本 Parent‐Child Rhythmical Movement in Taiwanese (18 months – 36 months): Introducing concepts of number (1‐10), colors, shapes, body, slow/fast/stop, high/low, running/walking/hopping/turning, around 12 Taiwanese word phrases, etc. 幼兒親子律動班(18 months – 36 months) ：數數(1‐10)，顏色，形狀，五官，快慢停大小等概念，走跑跳轉圈等動作 Taiwanese Preschool (3 year & 4 year) & Kindergarten: Nursery rhyme, children songs, story, craft, basic conversation, etc. 兒童台語3歲班，兒童台語4歲班以及兒童台語幼稚園班：唸謠，兒歌，基本會話，基本台語語詞，勞作，習慣團體生活 Taiwanese for 6 years old and up: Children songs, story, craft, Taiwanese conversation, learning to read and write Taiwanese in Modern Literal Taiwanese (MLT) etc. We use King‐an Taiwanese Reader and Children’s Taiwanese Book as our major teaching guides. 台語一班至六班，及青少年台語班 (12歲以上)：台語現代文書法配合兒童台語課本(Children’s Taiwanese Book)及台灣小學台語教材(目前使用金安文教出版的台語讀本) Mandarin for Kids 兒童華語班：以僑委會提供的幼童華語讀本、全新版華語及生活華語為主，其他各版本的台灣小學教材與教具為輔 Mandarin Preschool (3 & 4 years old): Basic mandarin conversation, introduction of Phonetic Alphabets. 兒童華語3歲班，兒童華語4歲班：華語對話，介紹/認識注音符號，簡單華語語詞，習慣團體生活 Mandarin Kindergarten, Mandarin for 6 years old and up: Phonetic transcription, read/write Phonetic Alphabets, Chinese stroke and stroke orders.
